Join us for a call with Van Luu, Ph.D., Global Head of Currency at Russell Investments to discuss the various risks related to currency exposures in the current macro environment. He will address questions including:

• How does one consider FX hedging in the current inflationary environment? 
• How does policy play into the amount of hedging one should consider?
• With a divergent direction in rates in China, how does that affect other countries and to what degree should it affect FX hedging?

Speaker: Van Luu, Ph.D.

Van Luu is Global Head of Currency in the Investment Division, based in London. In this role, he leads all portfolio management, research and client advice on currency for Russell Investments. Prior to assuming his current responsibilities, Van was Head of Currency and Fixed Income Strategy in London.

Before re-joining Russell Investments in June 2015, Van was a researcher and strategist in the Allocation Strategies Department at Norges Bank Investment Management (NBIM), the manager of Norway’s Sovereign Wealth Fund. He helped manage NBIM’s exposure in currencies, equities and fixed income assets.

From 2007 to 2010, Van was a Senior Research Analyst at Russell Investments in London. Prior to that, he served as the Head of Bond Markets/Economics Research at Landesbank Baden-Württemberg (Germany’s third-largest bank by assets) for six years.

Van has published his research in academic and practitioner journals, including the Review of Quantitative Finance and Accounting, Journal of Investment Management, Journal of Fixed Income, and Journal of Investing.
