Speaker Bios

Tim O’Connell

Tim is the Director of Liquid Strategies for the Colorado Fire and Police Pension Association, a $7 billion pension plan that administers retirement and death & disability plans for firefighters, police officers, and other first responders throughout the state of Colorado.  In this role Tim manages the equity, fixed income, and hedge fund assets classes for the pension.  Prior to FPPA, Tim was a Principal, and Head of Equities at NEPC, LLC, a 1.5 trillion investment consulting firm. In this role Tim oversaw a team of 15 responsible for the sourcing, underwriting, and monitoring of 500 investment relationships within equity strategies. Previously, Tim served as a public markets and hedge fund researcher focused on global equities and equity long short strategies.

Tim has a B.A. in Political Science from the University of California, Berkeley. He is a CFA Charterholder and a member of the CFA Society Colorado.

Kyle Geordan

Kyle joined the Colorado Fire and Police Pension Association in 2019 as an Analyst and has 4 years of experience in institutional investments. Based in Denver, Kyle is a heads FPPA’s Risk Management team. He previously worked in Health Care as a Financial Reporting Analyst at Equian, LLC. in Denver, Colorado. Kyle has a Masters in Finance from Denver University’s Daniels College of Business and B.A. in Economics from University of Colorado.
